Coronado’s Lamb’s Players Theatre Announces 2016 Season

American Rhythm at The Lamb’s Players Theatre, 2001

Coronado’s premier live theatre, The Lamb’s Players, just announced its 2016 Season today. As always, the line-up includes a mix of energetic musicals beside more thoughtful intellectual pieces, as well as with light-hearted comedy for everyone to enjoy. Unlike the 2014 and 2015 Seasons, however, many of the pieces will be familiar to only a smaller audience, and will introduce theatre-goers to new music and themes.

Producing Artistic Director Robert Smyth shared, “Composing a Season is always a delicate and delightful balance. Each year, we look to tell good stories well, combining patron favorites with new pieces they may never have had the opportunity to explore. We are excited with the line-up we’ve come up with for 2016.”

THE MIRACLE WORKER March 4 – April 10
By William Gibson

The story of Helen Keller and her remarkable teacher Anne Sullivan, in a fresh, powerful and moving production of this American classic.

DINNER WITH MARLENE April 22 – May 29
By Anne-Charlotte Harvey

A magical world premier about an actual dinner party in Paris with singer & movie star Marlene Dietrich and a fascinating assortment of socialites, artists, and writers, as Europe is starting to come apart at the seams.

AMERICAN RHYTHM June 10 – August 7
Conceived by Robert Smyth
By Kerry Meads & Vanda Eggington

A talented cast of actor/singer/dancers and an amazing band take you on a memorable journey through 100 years of great American music.

BEAU JEST August 19 – October 2
By James Sherman

Sarah’s parents believe she is engaged to a charming doctor. She’s not, but when they arrive in town for a dinner party she hires an actor to keep the fiction alive. Hilarity and romance ensue.

EQUIVOCATION October 14 – November 20
By Bill Cain

This stunning regional premiere explores telling the truth in difficult times. The King’s government pressures Shakespeare to write a politically biased history of the Gunpowder Plot into one of his plays.
