Boy Scout Troop 806 will brave the shave in solidarity with kids with cancer and raise money to Conquer Childhood Cancers! This is the fourth annual head shaving event in support of The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to raising money for children’s cancer research. Hosted by Bow Ties and Hair Cuts in Coronado, the Troop’s 2015 goal to raise $2500 in donations will make their total donations over $15,000. Please support the event by joining us at Bow Ties and Haircuts, Monday April 13, 1106 10th Street at 5pm. Donations can be made at Bow Ties and Haircuts or online at https://www.stbaldricks.org/events/Troop806.
Why all the shaved heads? Worldwide a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes, and one in five children diagnosed in the U.S. will not survive. With only 4 percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, St. Baldrick’s Foundation volunteers, supporters and donors are needed to continue the battle against this devastating disease. Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has awarded more than $154 million to support lifesaving research, making the Foundation the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants.
