The SuperSEAL Triathlon and the SEAL Sprint Triathlon will take place in Coronado on Sunday, March 16.
The SuperSEAL event, which consists of a 1500 meter swim, a 40 kilometer bike ride, and a 10 kilometer run, kicks off at 8:00 a.m., while the shorter SEAL Sprint event is (a 500 meter swim, a 20 kilometer bike ride, and a 6 kilometer run) begins at 7:00.

The pre-race expo for both events will take place at Loews Coronado Bay Resort on Saturday, March 15, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The SuperSEAL is a swim-bike-run event that covers a course consisting of a two-lap, 1.2-mile open ocean swim, a four-lap, 56-mile bike course and a five-lap, 13.1-mile run. The events are presented by Naval Special Warfare and sponsored by Morale Welfare and Recreation, North Island. It is considered one of the toughest medium-distance triathlons around. The open-ocean swim starts at 7 a.m. SR 75 will be open to vehicle traffic. However, some lanes will be closed. The Bayshore Bikeway will be closed in the morning.

Superseal Triathlon and SEAL Sprint Race 3/16/14. Expect Traffic Delays from 6 a.m. To 1 p.m.
The 7th Annual Naval Special Warfare Superseal Triathlon will take place tomorrow on the Silver Strand between Tulagi Rd. and Rainbow Rd. in Imperial Beach as well as in the San Diego Bay and at Silver Strand State Beach. The bike path and roadway travel will be impacted during the race.
Vehicles will be rerouted to provide for one lane in each direction on SR 75 between NAB and Imperial Beach.
The bike path will be closed to bicycles and pedestrians between Tulagi Rd. and Imperial Beach
