The San Diego District Tennis Association, in collaboration with the U.S. Tennis Association, Naval Medical Center San Diego, and Balboa Tennis Club, will host the Third Annual National Tennis Camp for Wounded Warriors from May 19-25, 2014 in San Diego.
This event is a part of a proven program that has provided tennis-based rehabilitation to over 600 wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans from all the military branches to aid in their physical and emotional recoveries since 2009. The program has been featured in local, regional, and national level publications, and has received accolades from senior Department of Defense officials for its excellence and impact. Links to these are available at www.sandiegotennis.com under the Wounded Warrior Tennis Program banner.
Over 50 wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans from across the country are expected to participate in the May 2014 camp, and as in previous years, the San Diego District Tennis Association is working with local businesses, disabled sports clubs, community support organizations and individuals to cover all participants’ airfare, lodging, meals, transportation, tennis equipment and instruction.
