Homecoming Sailors of USS Carl Vinson Proud to Make History

The Navy aircraft carrier responsible for burying the body of Osama bin Laden at sea docked Wednesday morning at Naval Base Coronado, ending a 198-day deployment. The 5,500 sailors and air wing personnel aboard the USS Carl Vinson were told to keep quiet about the bin Laden mission, but they and their families expressed pride for their role in history. Hundreds waited to embrace their loved ones and some new mothers introduced their husbands to their babies for the first time as live music played in the background at the homecoming celebration.
