Recently my Girl Scout Troop (5548) finished our Take Action Project to complete our Cadette journey called aMaze. This project was one of the steps that needed to be taken to be eligible for the Girl Scout Silver Award. The project was a video about stereotypes and how they affect society. One example of a common stereotype is that women are weaker than men! Jenevieve Joseph was the filmmaker and editor with Camy Kimura helping her with that task. They are both in the Coronado Middle School elective program called KCMS so they had access to editing equipment. All the other girls in the troop (Andrea DePhilippis, Madeline Deitrick, Amelia Hawley, Samantha Lorr, Lucy Rauber, Paloma Ronis, Lily Roughneen, Carly Thoms, Anna Valades) either spoke about stereotypes or showed an example of a stereotype. My card said, “Just because I’m skinny doesn’t mean I’m weak!” Below is the link to our final product, and I hope you enjoy the video!
