Seeking Coronado Residents to Participate in the 2010 Census

Seeking Coronado Residents to Participate in the 2010 Census

Every 10 years a census of our population is conducted as mandated by our country’s Constitution. The 2010 Census is your community’s voice in government. Census results are used to apportion seats in the US House of Representatives as the Constitution requires periodic adjustments in electoral districts and constituency boundaries to reflect shifts in population. Census results also help to determine how Federal funds are allocated to communities. In each of the next ten years, over $400 billion dollars will be spent on infrastructure and services such as roads, parks, Senior and Job training centers and more.

The Census Bureau needs your help to conduct the 2010 Census. The Census Bureau is especially looking for census takers that live within our community. Coronado is a special community and way of life. The Census Bureau wants to recruit people within your neighborhoods. They are looking for people who are familiar with the local area and community interests to be Census takers. Our city has several gated or limited access areas such as Coronado Shores, the Ferry Landing area, the Cays, the area surrounding the golf course/Coronado Yacht Club and all the Navy Housing just to name a few. Applicants from all over Coronado are in short supply, but especially in these areas. The Census Bureau estimates that they will need a significant number of people to complete the census count in our area. It would be beneficial to hire members of the Coronado community to complete this task rather than facing the need to bring in Census workers from outside of the area.

As a census taker you will help to make sure that everyone in our community is counted. Accurate counts will make a statement about the resources Coronado needs going forward and make a brighter future for everyone. Being a Census taker is a way to give back to our wonderful community while earning a place in history. The 2010 Census jobs will allow you the opportunity to work flexible hours and independently within your neighborhood. These are temporary, part-time jobs that also offer good pay, paid training and reimbursement for travel related expenses.

2010 Census Jobs are ideal for retirees, college students, recent graduates, stay-at-home parents and anybody looking for a part-time, temporary or second job. We are routinely offering Test Sessions in Coronado as well as multiple locations throughout San Diego.
