As most of our readers know, the Village Theatre is finally getting renovated after being closed for the past 10 years. There was an ‘open house’ earlier today that showed off designs and offered attendees popcorn and soda. Both Lance Alspaugh (CEO of Five Star Theatres inc.) and Coronado’s Mayor Tanaka spoke at the event and you could feel the ‘buzz’ in the air.
Construction will begin October 4, 2010 and the theatre will be completed and re-opened in March 2011. We can’t wait. Enjoy the photos below:
A crowd begins to gather…
Gotta love this sign.
Former Mayor Tom Smisek and current Mayor Casey Tanaka were on hand at the event.
