At the Open House students and their parents will have the opportunity to meet faculty from CoSA’s six pre-professional arts departments: Classical & Contemporary Dance, Digital Media Animation, Filmmaking, Visual Communication, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre & Drama, Technical Theatre, and Visual Arts. Tours will be offered of CoSA’s state-of-the art Performing Arts Center, including the 550-seat main stage theatre and the more intimate Black Box theatre, the broadcast studio, the computerized music lab, dance studios and more.
Students and their parents will learn about CoSA’s application and audition/interview process, and be able to register for the Prospective Student Workshop to be held on January 24th.
CoSA has been called San Diego County’s premier arts conservatory and is the winner of several prestigious arts awards including the California State 2009 Golden Bell for Visual and Performing Arts, and was one of five National Outstanding Arts Schools in 2010. Coronado High School was named a California Distinguished School in 2011 and honored with an Exemplary Career Technical Education Award, in large part due to CoSA’s programs of school-to-career instruction.
