Coronado High School Principal Jenny Moore spoke with a representative from SDG&E. The SDG&E representative reports that their investigation into the citywide gas odor has revealed that the city was subject to a “petroleum-based cloud of odor” from an unidentified source which hovered this morning during the cold temperatures. A possible source may have been a passing ship. The odor is not the result of a natural gas leak. Reportedly, as the weather warms, the cloud is moving toward National City.
