Throwback Thursday: San Diego Tourists Hit Coronado Beach on Memorial Day 1992

Many thanks to San Diego CBS/CW (News 8) for alerting The Coronado Times to these “flashback videos” that feature Coronado during special holidays and events. Look for them on Thursday for a couple more weeks.

Describing the above video, News 8 says:

On Memorial Day 1992, News 8’s Larry Himmel hit the beach in Coronado to see how tourists were faring in San Diego’s May Gray weather. Even with the beautiful beach and the Hotel Del Coronado as a backdrop, Himmel found the visitors to be a bit “fussy” but in typical Larry fashion he had a laugh with them all the same.

How much do you think has changed in 27 years?
