The San Diego Veteran’s Coalition and its community partners are hosting San Diego’s 3rd Annual Military, Veterans, & Spouses Workforce Readiness Summit and Resource Fair on Saturday, September 14 at NTC Liberty Station (at the conference center located 2600 Laning Road in Point Loma) from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
The event is open to active duty military, veterans, and their spouses. Attendees will be able to access and network with 400 military, veteran’s spouses, employers, entrepreneurs, and community resources all under one roof. Over 60 exhibitors will be there covering three zones – education, employment and entrepreneurship.
Back by popular demand is the “Pitch Off Competition” in front of angel investors where the winner could walk away with a $5,000 prize.
Attendees will learn how to: Discover their Career DNA, and how to Choose a Company Versus a Job; Make Yourself Marketable; Choosing a College; Personal Economic Empowerment; Get a 1-on-1 Workforce Readiness Check-up; Access to Capital; Financing Your Education; Get Certified to do Business with the Government; Entrepreneurial Education; Navigating the Entrepreneur Ecosystem, and Franchising as well as networking with local veteran entrepreneurs. This year’s keynote speaker will be Colonel Ted Studdard USMC (Ret) Divisional Staffing Manager, Western Division Merchandising Execution Team, Home Depot (topic: Starting Out from Scratch).
