The Coronado Chamber of Commerce is pleased to introduce Carolyn Osorio as its new Communications & Marketing Coordinator. The selection was made after careful consideration by a staff hiring committee, and the Chamber officially welcomed Osorio on April 25th.
“We are thrilled to have Carolyn join our team,” Coronado Chamber Executive Director Sue Gillingham said. “As a small-business owner with a diverse non-profit background, she was the perfect choice.”
Osorio’s experience with non-profit communications began in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where she worked with outreach initiatives targeting underserved youth and multicultural audiences. With marketing and outreach experience ranging from museums to public parks to performing arts, Osorio has worked with and promoted public programs, events and special initiatives on both coasts.
She returned to her native Southern California three years ago where she has handled marketing and communications for organizations throughout San Diego, including Balboa Park where she served as spokeswoman for the inaugural year of Balboa Park After Dark. She has served on the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts Advisory Council, the American Alliance of Museums’ National Program Committee and as an Advisory Panelist for the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture. When not at the Chamber, she works with communications and social media for the San Diego Italian Film Festival in addition to running her own personal art and curatorial business, Barrio Bureaus.
The Coronado Chamber’s board of directors and staff are looking forward to an exciting year of new ideas with Osorio on board. Any questions can be directed to the Chamber’s staff at (619)435-9260 or [email protected].
