Coronado Flower Show Floral Fling

The Coronado Flower Show’s Floral Fling will be held in the Flower Show tents in Spreckels Park on April 21, 2018. The event will go from 6:30-9:30 and will be held rain or shine. The Floral Fling will feature food samplings from local restaurants, local craft beer, regional fine wine, and live entertainment by It’s Never 2L8. Attendees pay a flat fee for tickets, the proceeds of which will help to support programs funded by the Coronado Floral Association. The dress code is Coronado Casual. A souvenir glass will be given away to all attendees. The event is 21 and up.

Attendees must be a member of the Coronado Floral Association. Not a member? Not a problem! Membership can be purchased on the Coronado Floral Association website, www.coronadoflowershow.com. The event is open to any member over the age of 21. The cost for a two memberships to the CFA is $35, which also gets you access to purchase two tickets to the Coronado Flower Show. The price per ticket to the Floral Fling is $45 dollars prior to the event, $50 the day of the event. Tickets and membership can both be purchased on the website www.coronadoflowershow.com.

The Coronado Floral Association puts on the Flower Show each year in Coronado. For more than eight decades, Coronado has followed the spring tradition of refurbishing gardens throughout the town and staging Southern California’s premier flower show. The Floral Fling is directly affiliated with the flower show and all proceeds go to the Coronado Floral Association.

The Coronado Flower Show Spring Fling will give restaurants and chefs the opportunity to share a taste of a classic dish or their latest seasonal creation.  There will be stations featuring food from local and nearby restaurants. Some of the participating businesses include: Brigantine, Gelato Paradiso, Poke 123, Miguel’s Cocina, Liberty Call Distilling Co., Chez Loma Bistro, Maretalia Ristorante, Coronado Brewing Co., High Tide Bottle Shop & Kitchen, Lobster West, Nicky Rottens Bar & Burger Joint, and Moo Time Creamery.

This event has occurred in previous years to much community delight and we hope to make this an event under the stars that everyone looks forward to each year. Sara Stillman and Megan Pontes are co-chairing the event, as well as a committee made up of local Coronado residents and CFA board members Carol McGraw, Jennifer Settle, and Heather Minger. “We are very much looking forward to this opportunity to nibble, sip, and celebrate spring under the stars in Coronado’s Spreckels Park. Join us in celebrating one of the most treasured traditions in Coronado’s history!”
