Baseball: CHS Boys Take Two Wins in Lions Tournament

Over their spring break, Coronado’s Varsity Baseball team entered in the exciting competition of the Lions Tournament. On Tuesday, they hosted Point Loma High School for what turned out to be a complete shutout. In both the first and fourth innings, Coronado scored three runs to go up 6-0. In the seventh and last inning, one more run was scored to finish 7-0.

Advancing to the next round, Coronado hosted Ramona High School for another exciting game. The first inning turned out to split the teams evenly 1-1. For the next six innings, neither team scored any runs, and the game went to extra innings. The eighth proved to be the tiebreaker, as Coronado scored one more run to defeat Ramona 2-1. Coronado will continue on to the playoffs Thursday at their home field.
