Only A Few Sponsorships Remain for Chamber’s Annual Military Ball!

The Coronado Chamber of Commerce’s 33rd Annual Salute to the Military Ball is still two months away, yet sponsorship opportunities are filling up quickly! The Chamber is thrilled to have over 30 sponsors on board, already surpassing the sponsorships from 2017. With just one Gold Star Sponsorship still available along with a few Silver and Bronze Sponsorships, the Chamber is encouraging all businesses, organizations and individuals who might be interested in showing their support to call soon to lock in your spot.

“We are so grateful for the outpouring of support for our Military Ball,” said Sue Gillingham, Executive Director of the Chamber. “We are ahead of our goal for sponsorships and are equally as excited to have more reservations for local Vietnam veterans to attend than we anticipated.”

This year’s event is set for Saturday, April 21st at the iconic Hotel del Coronado’s Grand Ballroom. The USS Midway Museum is already confirmed as the event’s Title Sponsor, which aligned perfectly with the theme of “Coronado Remembers Vietnam Veterans” as a salute to all those who served. The USS Midway made several deployments to Vietnam during its 47 years of service.

A new option this year for those who can’t attend the event but would still like to show their support is the Vietnam Veterans Table Sponsor, enabling 10 veterans to attend the event for free. The cost for this sponsorship if $2,500. You may also pay to host a hero at this event for just $225.

The Chamber would like to thank the sponsors for this year’s Military Ball thus far:

Title Sponsor: USS Midway Museum

Gold Star Sponsors: CalAm Water, Robert & Gail Bardin for the Coronado Film Festival, Navy SEAL Foundation, Salof Family

Silver Star Sponsors: Boeing, Coronado Ferry Landing, Glorietta Bay Inn, Invicta Financial Group, Lockheed Martin, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, San Diego Family Housing, SEAL Family Foundation

Bronze Star Sponsors: Coronado Bliss Salon, Coronado Hardware Glass & Paint, Robert & Gail Bardin, EDCO, L3 Technologies, Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Marvin Heinze, Northrup Grumman, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, Phillip Carter Winery, San Diego Regional Airport Authority, USS Coronado, Mike Woiwode & Gar Wright

Spirit Sponsor: La Avenida Inn

Other Sponsors: Coronado Eagle & Journal, San Diego Padres

The Chamber is currently looking for other local businesses, organizations and individuals to help sponsor this annual event. A few sponsorship opportunities are still available, starting at just $2,500. In addition to an amazing four-course dinner by the Hotel Del, wine service and entertainment for six guests, all table sponsorships enable two military couples to attend this special evening as complimentary guests. More information on sponsorship opportunities can be found on the Chamber website at http://www.coronadochamber.com/military-ball.

“This is a unique event, providing local businesses the opportunity to thank our military personally,” said Gillingham. “We always have an amazing showing of support from Coronado, but we’re hoping for an even bigger turnout this year.”

Since 1985, the Coronado Chamber of Commerce has hosted this black tie affair, giving Coronado citizens and surrounding business communities an opportunity to show their thanks and support to local military members and their families. The evening will also include the presentation of the 19th annual Harry T. Jenkins Memorial Award and the 6th annual VADM James & Sybil Stockdale Award to deserving military members, as well as a special guest speaker to be announced. The Harry T. Jenkins Award emphasizes honor, integrity and commitment. The Stockdale Award recognizes a military couple who best exemplify the selfless service and dedication to the community, the Military, and the country.
