MOAA/NL Dinner Meeting with Guest Speaker RADM Pete Pettigrew (USNR Retired)

The Silver Strand Chapter, Military Officers of America Association (MOAA) and the Navy League, Coronado Chapter will hold their fifth dinner meeting of the 2017 season on Tuesday, October 17th, at 6 PM at the Coronado Yacht Club, 1631 Strand Way, Coronado. The guest speaker for the event will be RADM Pete Pettigrew (USNR Retired). His topic will be “Hanoi Reunion.”

In April 2016, Admiral Pettigrew was one of about 20 U.S. and North Vietnamese pilots, who had flown against each other during the Vietnam War, that met in Hanoi. Some of the U.S. and Vietnamese pilots that attended the “Reunion” had shot down “enemy” aircraft. One or two of the U.S. pilots attending the “reunion” had been shot down and held in the infamous “Hanoi Hilton” prison. Each of the pilots at the reunion has his own story, and impressions of meeting with their former adversaries. RADM Pettigrew, who flew the Navy F-4 fighter and who had made several deployments to South East Asia, will talk about his experience, thoughts, and impressions of the April 2016 Hanoi Reunion.
