Sneak Peek of Upcoming Beach Polo Event at Del (Sept. 1-3)

Last Wednesday, members of the media were invited to get a preview of the highly anticipated beach polo event taking place at the Hotel del Coronado (Sept. 1-3).  This is the second annual “Beach Polo Cup” held on the white sandy beaches of Coronado. Coronado has a long history with polo dating back to the early 1900’s. The famous Spreckels Cup was first played in Coronado in 1909.  Fans will once again see 12 polo players and 50 horses compete on the Hotel del Coronado’s private beach – the sport of kings couldn’t pick a more picturesque venue.

In an effort to bring beach polo to more people, seating will increase from 1,500 to 3,000 over the three day event. Polo will be played Sept. 1-3 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). In addition, there will be more ticketing options compared to last year.
