CSF Summer Enrichment 2017Get Summer Enrichment Classes at Early Bird Prices before time runs out!

Early bird pricing for Coronado Summer Enrichment ends on Thursday, June 1, so be sure and register your children today at www.coronadoenrichment.org.

These fun and hands-on STEAM-inspired classes organized by Coronado Schools Foundation will be held from July 10th to July 28th. The program offers three one-week sessions (July 10-14, July 17-21, and July 24-28) with classes for children entering grades K-12. There are also three innovative classes that run over the course of all three weeks – Musical Theatre & Drama (grades 4-12), SAT and ACT Test Prep classes (grades 9-12) – and Common App (grades 11 & 12). This year, afternoon class sessions will also be offered with classes held from 8:30 to 11:30 am and 12:00 to 3:00 pm at Coronado High School. Most are taught by credentialed Coronado Unified teachers with Steve Reiss, a local expert, teaching SAT and ACT classes. A 10% second child discount and need-based scholarships are available.

New classes offered this year include:

  • Sports Sampler: Is the weather too nice to sit in a classroom? If you want to be outside enjoying this beautiful Coronado weather then enroll in our Sports Sampler class for grades 4-6 and 6-8. Ms. McCann will keep you on your toes as you sample all different types of sports such as Frisbee, Golf, Spike Ball, Kickball and Softball.
  • Math Boot Camp: a fun, engaging program that reinforces, and then builds upon, those important math skills your child has mastered during the school year. Students will enjoy exciting role-playing exercises such as a business owner, designer, or sports coach that apply math skills to real-life situations along with group competitions which teach new math skills to bring to the new school year. Throughout this class students will be exercising their bodies through athletic games as well as their brains.
  • Engineering- Force, Motion, Friction and Energy: In this exciting, hands-on experience, both girls and boys enjoy learning the fundamentals of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) using Hess toy trucks. The toy trucks are used to explore the forces of motion, force, friction, velocity, sound generation, energy transfer and measurements of speed, distance, mass and weight. Students will enjoy conducting various experiments using ramps and other fun accessories. Offered for grades 4-6.

Returning favorites –  Amazing Artists, Kids in the Kitchen, Looming/Knitting, Wacky Science, Game, Set, Math & Tennis, Forensics (crime solving chemistry), Navigating Middle School (for incoming 6th graders), It’s Up for Debate, and Beginning Guitar.
