Since its inception, Sydney Paige® has been on a mission to raise community awareness about the millions of children who do not have access to proper school supplies. Now, Sydney Paige® is partnering up with Operation Homefront, a non-profit organization committed to providing military families with financial assistance, to achieve the same goal: Provide students with the necessary tools to succeed in school and life.
To give an example of the need among military children, approximately 10 percent of the nation’s military members are stationed in San Diego County. More than half are married and have families they need to support but unfortunately, of those junior enlisted members, 50,000 are considered low income and 30,000 rely on food assistance regularly. And this is just San Diego. Through the Sydney Paige® – Operation Homefront partnership, the company hopes to gain support to donate 30,000 backpacks and school supplies for low-income military children by Summer 2017. CEO & Founder, Courtney Brockmeyer, explains “We hope to attain this goal through three donation methods:
1) Our Buy One/Give One model, where customers select Operation Homefront as the non-profit organization to receive their matching bag when they purchase a SP backpack online;
2) Supporters choose ‘Donate Only’ from our website, and a backpack + supplies goes directly to Operation Homefront; and
3) Through corporate sponsorships, where bags are sold in bulk to businesses who want to GIVE BACK. Employees can even pack the bags for additional engagement in the giving process.”
