Tom Cruise is at it again. In the newly released box office hit Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, the award winning actor, who plays Jack Reacher, is on a mission to discover and reveal the truth behind a massive government conspiracy in an attempt to clear his reputation. During his mission, however, secrets about his past are revealed.
“The movie was action packed, but the storyline didn’t pack much punch,” said one movie-goer.
As most movie-goers know, Tom Cruise always commits to the roles he plays. Even when he isn’t in character, he has no fear in showing the world how he feels about something (Remember the time he jumped on Oprah’s couch and professed his undying love for Katie Holmes?). But, I have to admit, while watching this movie at Vintage Village Theatre, I couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable watching several of the action scenes. While they were your typical shoot-em-up, roundhouse-kick, pistol whipping scenes, Tom Cruise seemed down-right worn out. Don’t get me wrong, I would be exhausted too if I was performing all of my own stunts; but for the first time in a Tom Cruise movie, I saw weakness in him.
While the film didn’t get my adrenaline pumping and several scenes were far too drawn out, it was entertaining to watch the cast in action.
