A stage is being set up on the beach just North of the Hotel del Coronado. A quick search on KC and the Sunshine Band’s website does indeed show that they are scheduled to play a private concert in Coronado on May 5th, 2016. The Hotel del Coronado does not comment on private events, so eCoronado.com was not able to confirm that the band was indeed playing at this location.
Just over a year ago, Tim McGraw played a “private” beach concert for Zaxby’s corporate party at the same Coronado location – thousands enjoyed the concert from the public beach just behind the event seating.
So, if you hear a funky beat near the Hotel del Coronado, bring a blanket or chair and boogie on over to public area of Coronado beach.
One of the band’s most famous songs is “Get Down Tonight” – and there would be no better place to dance the evening away than on Coronado beach around sunset.
