Coronado Summer Enrichment Registration opens April 8th

Jump Start Kindergarten – Children entering both Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten enjoy not only fun projects, but learn skills to help them succeed when entering school in the fall. 

Coronado Summer Enrichment Registration opens April 8th

Coronado Schools Foundation looks forward to welcoming your child in the fifth year of the Summer Enrichment program. The STEAM-inspired classes will run from June 14th to July 1st with three one-week sessions (June 14th to 17th, June 20th to 24th, and June 27th to July 1st), each offering fun and innovative hands-on classes for children entering grades K-12th. There are also three classes that take place over the course of all three weeks – COSA Musical Theatre & Drama (grades 5th to 12th), SAT Test Prep – and new this year, Common App for 12th graders. Classes will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 am at Coronado Middle School with Musical Theatre at Coronado High.

Also new to the course line up this year are Kids Fitness Club, Beginning Band, Navigating Middle School for incoming 6th graders, Crime Solving Chemistry, Looming/Knitting, It’s Up for Debate, and Music Appreciation – 1960s. Some of the returning favorites include Coding, Learning to Lead, Jump Start Kindergarten, Raving Robotics, Amazing Artists, Cut Throat Kitchen and Kids in the Kitchen, and Game, Set, Math through Tennis.

“We are excited about our returning classes and new ones offered including Mr. Ramirez from CMS teaching Forensics and Crime Solving Chemistry. The band program CSF has funded for 4th and 5th graders will continue, as well and Learning to Lead will be back (7th to 12th graders) with Toni Trinidad teaching this dynamic class which includes both leadership principles and exercises, as well as hands-on experience working as a teaching assistant with our dedicated credentialed teachers and local experts teaching this year,” commented Kathy Shady, Village 4th grade teacher with her Administrative Credential, returning as Summer Enrichment Principal. “Mr. Pondrom and Mr. Hoang from CHS will also be teaching new offerings this year, Music Appreciation (1960s) and Common App respectively.”

Summer is just around the corner with CUSD classes ending on June 9th. Program registration opens April 8th at 9 am and brochures were mailed to every residence in Coronado.
