California American Water Moving Coronado Offices to Downtown SD to Reduce Costs

Screen Shot 2016-03-25 at 9.32.26 AMCalifornia American Water moved their offices to Coronado in 2009.  They are one of Coronado’s largest commercial tenants.  They have been located at 1033 B Avenue (near the Coronado post office) and the size of the commercial space is nearly 14,000 SF.  Their lease is up in 2016 and they have decided to move across the bridge to downtown San Diego.  The move is scheduled for July 2016.

eCoronado.com spoke to Kevin Tilden, Vice President External Affairs, and he shared the following comment on why California American Water is moving from Coronado to downtown San Diego:

“We have loved working in Coronado, and don’t want to move, however we are realizing significant savings that will result in lower costs for our water customers. We will continue to be the water provider in Coronado and continue to be active in the community and our local office in Imperial Beach will still be open for payments, free conservation devices and other customer needs. ”
