Bridgeworthy: The “5th Slam” Starts Next Week in the Desert

Djokovic, Federer, Nadal, Serena, Sharapova and all the other top tennis players will be in Indian Wells starting next week battling it out on the the tennis courts of Indian Wells.  The BNP Paribas Open runs from March 7-20th and is considered the 5th Slam of the grand slam tennis tournaments.

Of all the grand slams, the US Open is the closest to Coronado, and that’s in New York.  The drive to Indian Wells is under three hours and won’t break the bank, plus, the weather is warm and now that Stadium 2 is open, you can get a pretty good seat and completely skip center court (Stadium 1).

Tickets are still available and if you love playing or watching tennis, you need to get them now and plan a getaway to the desert – trust us, you will be glad you went.

Tip:  Watch the players warming up on the practice courts or playing soccer outside center court.

BNP Paribas Open, one of the premier  professional tournaments in the world, which takes place annually in March. The Stadium 1 is the second largest in the world, which includes 16,100-seats with great viewing of center court, 44 luxurious stadium suites, locker rooms, press room, broadcast booths, 6,000 square-foot commissary and more.

The Tennis Garden’s beautiful landscaped grounds covering 54 acres also include a brand new, permanent Stadium 2, with 8,000 seats and three fine dining restaurants, including the world-famous Japanese restaurant Nobu. There are two 19,000-square-foot shade structures, 29 world-class courts, eight acres of outdoor exposition space, outdoor parking and a year-round full-service Tennis Club.
