Humans of Coronado is a photo series where we “bump” into residents and visitors around the “island,” completely unplanned and unfiltered. It was inspired by Humans of New York. Next time you are out and about around town, you may just find yourself part of the next HOC series!
This segment of Humans of Coronado is in honor of Coronado’s 125th birthday! To celebrate, we asked locals what is their favorite part of Coronado.

“My favorite thing about Coronado is the ability to walk everywhere. The shops. The Ferry Landing. We live near here so we love it. We walk every night.”
“It’s really hard to pick only one thing. It’s the whole atmosphere of Coronado. That’s spoken from a person that’s lived many places.”
“I like being able to walk to work.”
“We have been here almost five years now. It’s the nice, relaxed place to live. We were originally from the east coast, this was our first tour out west. I retired from the Navy and we decided to go back to Massachusetts for a month- said ‘nope, too cold’ and came back.
“I like the community. It has everything you’d ever need. Great restaurants, great stores, great market. A hospital if you have to go there. A perfect weekend is never having to go in the car.”
