CORONADO – Coronado has always been a popular subject for writers and photographers. Now the popular TV show, “Wonderland,” will feature an entire episode on Coronado that includes many of our favorite “secret” hangouts.
Show host Noah Tafolla spent weeks collecting information and footage for this show. Noah and “Wonderland” are the heir apparent to such KPBS shows as Ken Kramer’s “About San Diego” (Ken retired earlier this year) and Huell Howser’s “California’s Gold” (Huell died last year).

Noah got his start at KPBS and is now featured on Cox TV 4. The station airs on Time Warner TV 4 as well. The Coronado episode will air Monday, April 13 at 10:30 p.m. and repeat in that same time slot April 16, 21 and 29.
Among the segments featured is an interview with Christian Esquevin of the Coronado Public Library. Christian shares the original Coronado Deed of Gift and makes an appeal to viewers to purchase the rare documents and keep them here at our library.

Local writer and historian, Joe Ditler, gives Noah a tour of the island, taking in Bluewater Boathouse and the Village Theatre. Another segment visits the Wizard of Oz House on Star Park and includes an interview with owners Jane and Pike Meade.
Closing out the show will be two segments on Clayton’s Diner and the Glorietta Bay Inn.

Noah’s folksy approach to San Diego storytelling has won him Emmy nominations and critical acclaim. He first featured Coronado back in a 2006 episode.
