Coronado Geocaching – Free Fun for Anyone Looking for Treasure and Adventure

Have you noticed kids and adults wandering around parts of Coronado looking for “things” just off the beaten path…or perhaps attached to signs or trees? Chances are, they are geocaching and in search of small treasures – sometimes, it’s just for the joy of finding something hidden.

What is it? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. Sometimes, you just sign your name to show that you’ve found it, or it might contain a small treasure that you can take and replace with a treasure of your own for the next person to find.

To participate, do the following:

1. Download the free app here: http://www.geocaching.com/mobile/default.aspx
2. Bring a pen to sign the paper once you find the geocache
3. Bring a few trading trinkets
4. Invite a friend and go have an adventure

Look how many there are to find just around Coronado:
