San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus Presents its Biggest Show EverLUV Madonna
Tickets are now on sale for the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus’ (SDGMC) biggest show ever, LUV MadonnaMusic of the Material Girl. The spectacular two-show Madonna tribute will kick off San Diego’s Pride Week at the chorus’ new home, the historic Balboa Theatre on July 12 and 13.
“If you’ve ever seen a Madonna concert, that’s the feeling you’ll getsexy, exciting, amazing and fun with over-the-top sets, costumes, dancers and productions like we’ve never done before!” promises SDGMC interim Artistic Director RC Haus. “There will be amazing non-stop music, dancing and all the craziness you can expect when 180 gay men take the stage to celebrate the music of Madonna.”
To make the show even more spectacular, SDGMC commissioned world-renowned arranger David Maddux to premier three new Madonna choral arrangements including her hit “Music” and a mash up of Madonna’s Super Bowl half-time show anthem “Give Me All Your Luvin'” with the driving dance beats of “Hung Up.”
The show will also spotlight all the glitter and glamour of Madonna’s many outrageous and iconic performances throughout her career. From her cone bra days of “Vogue,” “Like a Virgin,” “Material Girl” and “Papa Don’t Preach” to her dance hits “Ray of Light” and “Frozen”Madonna proves she is a force of nature.
Tickets for LUV MadonnaMusic of the Material Girl are now on sale for Saturday, July 12 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 13 at 3 p.m. at SDGMC.org or by calling (877) 296-7664. Tickets start at $29 and range to $70. A special Director’s Prelude VIP Reception takes place an hour before each performance for an additional $35 which includes a private meet-and-greet with the Artistic Director, a complimentary cocktail and hors d’oeuvres. A $4 discount is available for seniors, students, groups of 10 or more and active-duty military.
