Close to two-thousand people came out Friday evening, October 12, between 4 and 7 p.m. to Village Elementary’s Harvest Hoedown. The event is a fundraiser hosted by the PATT (Parents and Teachers Together) to raise funds for Village and the ECDC (Early Childhood Development Center). Event organizers expect to bring in between $25,000-$26,000 all of which will go back to the schools this year.
Each classroom accepted donations to assemble a basket for the silent auction. The Barbie doll house was a pretty popular addition to the auction. The auction alone is expected to bring in about $10,000 of the total money raised.
Over 8,000 game tickets were sold to participants. Most games cost two tickets. There was also a dunk tank and a hair coloring station. Above, several students get their hair colored by high school volunteers working the event.

Yours truly (left) spent a good amount of time volunteering at the “Lollipop Tree”, a definite crowd pleaser. The line was steady all evening.
Approximately 45-50 student volunteers from Coronado Middle School ASB, CHS National Honor Society, and JROTC helped make the evening a success. Over 140 parent volunteers spent time selling tickets, hosting games, working the auction and the food lines.

For the third year in a row, Dr. Jamie Signorino, DDS was the major sponsor of the event. Dr. Potter of Potter Chiropractics sponsored the Dunk Tank and Matt Bartell, owner of Business Products Express, once again sponsored the Fast Pitch and the Pony Bounce. Excellent food was once again provided by the Spatafore Family’s NadoLife Restaurants Lil’ Piggy’s BBQ, Moo Time Creamery and Village Pizzeria. Nancy Rodriguez of Nancy Rodriguez Photography provided free photos and EDCO donated recycling and trash containers for the event.
