Three City of Coronado public safety workers were honored at an event Wednesday hosted by the city’s Chamber of Commerce.
Coronado Police Detective Bill Canet was honored as this year’s Police Officer of the Year, and recognized for his work with juveniles and the juvenile diversion program. Coronado Fire Engineer Brian Wright was named Firefighter of the Year. Lifeguard of the Year honors went to Coronado Lifeguard Paul Erskine.
The three honorees received an award and plaque during the Coronado Chamber of Commerce’s Biz & Bash Installation Dinner & Awards held July 27 in downtown San Diego.
The city congratulates the awardees.
“Coronado employees continue to impress us daily,” Coronado City Manager Blair King said. “We applaud the public safety workers whose good work was noticed and praised.”
