Coronado councilman Al Ovrom finally wins new term

CORONADO — Al Ovrom has been reelected to the Coronado City Council. The incumbent beat challenger Doug Metz, a Coronado school board member, by 15 votes.

This is the second close race for Ovrom; the first was in 2006.

“There were three very good candidates,” Ovrom said. “Even if I lost, the city would have had a good guy in Doug. I was just fortunate that I had 15 more votes than he did.”
