BABY LOVES DISCO LEMONADE TOUR 2010 hits San Diego on October 29, 2010
Philadelphia — Baby Loves Disco, an internationally-acclaimed dance party featuring music, dancing and fun-filled activities for parents and their young children, is coming to San Diego on Oct. 29, 2010. Part of a nationwide tour, the super-dance-party raises money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a nonprofit organization devoted to finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Birthed five years ago in a Philadelphia nightclub, Baby Loves Disco has grown into an international phenomenon. It’s not the average play group, and big purple dinosaurs are banned. Baby Loves Disco features real music spun and mixed by real DJs guaranteed to get little booties moving and grooving. The party continues in San Diego as hundreds of parents, grandparents and kids will bop and play at Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Recognized as one of the nation’s most family-friendly hotels, the resort will prepare healthy and delicious snacks, including sugar-free and gluten-free options.
“Thanks to our sponsor, H&M, we are able to keep the show on the road and bring the disco to people who need it the most,” said co-founder Andy Blackman Hurwitz. Hurwitz also adds that donations to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation may be accepted via text. Anyone who wants to donate $10 to the children’s cancer research foundation may simply text “Lemonade disco” to 85944.

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation shares the vision of founder and creator, Alexandra “Alex” Scott: a cure for all children with cancer. When Alex, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday, was four, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front-yard lemonade stand. Her plan: to give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. Her first “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” raised an astonishing $2,000 in one day. As news spread of the remarkable girl so dedicated to helping other sick children, people everywhere were inspired to start their own lemonade stands, donating the proceeds to her cause. In 2004 when Alex passed away at the age of eighther stand and inspiration had raised over $1 million towards finding a cure for the disease that took her life. The foundation that her parents created to keep Alex’s spirit and mission alive has today raised more than $30 million, with more than $12 million of those dollars coming from lemonade stands.
