Coronado School District Takes Plunge

A full-fledged marketing campaign is underway for a multimillion-dollar, financially challenged pool operated by the Coronado Unified School District.

“We hope we’ll be successful and the pool will be something that the Coronado residents will be proud of,” said consultant Caryn Hill, who was hired in June.

The pool recently hosted the swimming events for the Junior Olympics’s San Diego-Imperial County area. The four-day event garnered $5,500 for the facility. It also recently hosted Australia’s national swim team, which paid $200 an hour to rent out the entire 50-meter pool.
