The chase began about 10 a.m., when San Diego police investigating a residential burglary started chasing a car carrying three people. The chase ended up going south on Silver Strand Boulevard, where the car slammed into two other cars near the Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado at 12:20 p.m., police said.
Two of the people inside were caught, but the third ran onto the Naval Amphibious Base and, while trying to evade police, tore off his clothing on a fence. Stripped down to his underwear, the man ran into a warehouse.
Police evacuated the building, surrounded it and sent in a dog and handler, who arrested the man about 1:15 p.m.
