INFORMATION
Date of Occurrence: April 21, 2010
Time of Occurrence: 2:10 p.m.
Location of Incident: 5000 Silver Strand State Highway (SR75)
Coronado Police Detectives arrested Melanie Rebecca Flores (D.O.B. 03/03/63) of San Diego for 187 PC (murder) in the death of Stevens Benjamin Friedman (D.O.B. 11/05/14) of Coronado. Flores is also being charged with 2 counts of 23153 (A) CVC DUI causing injury and 2 counts of 23153 (B) CVC DUI over .08 causing injury.
At approximately 2:10 p.m. on April 21, 2010, Flores was driving while intoxicated on Silver Strand State Highway. She struck two vehicles, injuring the drivers. Mr. Friedman, a passenger in one of the vehicles, was killed.
Flores was booked into Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility at 7:30 p.m. this evening.
