NAVAL BASE CORONADO, Calif. – Sailors from Naval Base Coronado volunteered their time to help build a house during a San Diego Habitat for Humanity (SDHFH) project Feb. 23.
Sailors spent the day hammering and cutting wood for the house’s perimeter. Other volunteers installed external weather-proofing materials and sealed windows.
“This Habitat Project is rewarding because it allows me to give back to the community,” said Sonar Technician (Surface) 3rd Class Kyle Nielsen. “It allows me to be part of something bigger than myself. I look forward to volunteering again.”
