Big waves and high tides bring a potential for coastal flooding and dangerous surf Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. San Diego County beaches could see waves of 8 to 10 feet with occasional 15-foot sets, with the largest surf south of Del Mar, forecasters said. Waves should start diminishing Thursday afternoon, but the agency issued a high surf advisory for 4 a.m. Wednesday until 2 p.m. Friday, meaning conditions could be dangerous for swimming and surfing and local beaches could sustain erosion during that period.
