Naval Base Coronado Public Affairs Office Building 678, Suite 205 NAS North Island, CA 92135 (619) 545-8136 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Naval Base Coronado Public Affairs Office NAVAL BASE CORONADO, Calif., — After January 15, 2010, the San Diego – Coronado Ferry Service will no longer service the Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI) ferry landing. The Navy was prompted to end this service in light of security and funding considerations. Ferry commuters can find alternative means of transportation to the installation by contacting the Transportation Incentive Program (TIP) Office at: (619) 545-8132 or by visiting the ‘I commute’ website located at: www.icommutesd.com. Bus route information can be found at the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System website at: www.sdcommute.com. Through TIP, eligible Department of Defense employees receive government subsides for using forms of mass transportation such as vanpools, commuter trains and buses. -USN-
