BE Styled Barbara Burton & Elena Haley Coronado residents Barbara Burton and Elena Haley, both stay-at-home moms with young children in the same pre-school, were initially inspired by each other’s enthusiasm to get out of their mommy sweat suits. Regularly admiring one another’s outfit, they soon were trading secrets about where they had found their latest designer clothing deals – other moms caught on and also wanted to know about the latest trends and bargains While enjoying a day in the park with the kids, they began talking about their mutual past careers in real estate sales and how they enjoyed being at home with the kids. Both shared many of the same interests and were enthusiastic about how they could work at something fun together and still stay home. Barbara mentioned how great it would be to get friends together to share some of the clothing deals they had been finding and the idea started from there Why not? Many of their friends didn’t like to shop, and this concept would take the stress out of shopping with a good party. The date for the first “Shopping Party” was set in May of 2009. Together they ended up with over 500 pieces of clothing and accessories that they could offer to a mutual group of girlfriends. To make it more of a “girls night out” and time saver, the duo invited an esthetician to offer a $15 lip and eyebrow wax, and a make-up expert from Trish McEvoy to do complimentary make-up applications. The one-stop shopping party was a big success. While sipping bubbly and noshing on tasty treats, 50 of their girlfriends had a great time updating their wardrobes, catching up with friends and enjoying a fun night out.
