S.D. Bay fishing goes better with Goop

As Jeff Stock steered his 20-foot Sea Fox under the Coronado Bridge, seeing the concrete pilings stirred an old San Diego Bay fishing memory in me. It was about 30 years ago that I was introduced to bay fishing by a legendary angler, Jim Trelikes, the late owner of Lakeside Sporting Goods. I remembered us tying up to those pilings and casting plastic grubs into them, and having bass hit them as they were sinking. It was incredible fishing, and not just there, but also on drifts over sandy bottom and grassy flats areas, over deep channels and by pitching those grubs against wooden dock pilings.
