Facebook Coronado Fans Share Coronado 4th of July Memories

As many of you know, eCoronado.com runs the largest Coronado Fan group on Facebook (currently over 3,500 members). Earlier in the week, we asked members to share their favorite Coronado 4th of July memories – we got a great response. Here are some memories that were shared: Camping out on the median for the parade. I still remember the year the sprinklers went off early moring and people started screaming and running. Also getting my 4th of July tee from Bullshirt I have a collection =) The SEALS demonstrations hands down! My first 4th in San Diego, my husband and I went onto the base (Dry Side) and climbed on top of this big storage crate. We were higher than most of the buildings and could watched three or four different fire works shows. It was amazingly beautiful! Soo many, The free concert at Star Park performed by Joey Harris at my favorite teacher’s house, Pike Meade. Also drinking brews and watching the Parade from the top of a trailer, parked at the empty lot on 7th I have enjoyed a few boat parade fireworks ‘raft-up’s’ (it what it’s called – boats tie up to each other for one big cocktail party?) and fortunate to be a guest, not a captain. What a mess getting back to the docks!!! I miss the SEALS show, unfortunately, after 9/11 they stopped this. So many memories, too many to mention. We have a family home right near the golf course. It’s fun to just sit on the front patio and people watch. People fighting for parking spots, kids running amok, dogs, frisbees, bbq’s, etc. Too much fun! My favorite was watching the fireworks with an old friend during a CHS reunion weekend. We went to the golf course and laid down on the cool grass, hoping sprinklers would not start while we were there. But the whole weekend was just terrific–the parade, the reunion, and the concert on Sunday. You can join the Facebook Coronado Fan group and share your own memory, or share it here on eCoronado.com. The best day of the year is only 24 hours away….enjoy it!
