The 8.2 mile course goes north along the ocean beachfront of the Silver Strand. This event is held at low tide on hard packed sand, passing through Naval Amphibious Base beaches and in front of the beautiful Hotel del Coronado about 1 mile before the finish. This year’s run will benefit Naval Medical Center San Diego’s Comprehensive Combat and Complex Casualty Care (C5) rehabilitation facility. Runners are encouraged to park near the end of the race at Sunset Park (the intersection of Ocean Blvd. and Ocean Dr.) and take a shuttle bus for people (not bikes) to the start. The shuttles will run from 6:15 to 7:15 am. After the race, shuttles will again run from Sunset Park to the start as needed until 11:00 am. There will be a secure area for temporary bike storage at the end of the race.
