Wampler Kids provides residential adventure programs for youth with physical challenges such as Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Cord Injuries and Cerebral Palsy in the High Sierra’s of California. Wampler Kids participants experience a transforming change in skills, capabilities, and attitudes. As one participant stated, I now realize that I’m NOT just handicapped, I’ve got so many things to do and accomplish! The objectives and outcomes of Wampler Kids, for each participant, include but are not limited to: * Develop physical competencies * Develop compensating skills and confidence * Develop outdoor experiences and skills * Learn about the natural environment * Foster emotional, social, and physical independence * Develop a sense of personal worth and self-acceptance * Realize that there are clear opportunities for a normal life * Increase overall physical, leisure, and social capabilities Official Wampler Kids Website
