By Sunday somebody must have removed the yellow tape! See the “perfect” location for the temporary Sidewalk ?
… move the K-rail in the near foreground three or four feet to provide access! Bingo! But not in CORONADO! (This tape was removed too!) TO THE CITY ENGINEERS PEDESTRIANS DON’T MATTER! Vehicle traffic has been given accommodations during the construction process at Rotary Plaza, with planned DETOURS complete with signage, temporary surfacing etc., but pedestrians, whom the improvements with shorter crosswalks were intended to help, they receive NO CONSIDERATION! A SAFE passage between the K Rail and the curb would have been an EASY, REASONABLE and COMMON SENSE SOLUTION! Except for thee days, there was no active construction between the K rail and curb! The MAYOR and City Manager should have insisted on a SAFE pedestrian crossing at this very busy intersection ESPECIALLY during the BUSY MOTHERS DAY, RED BULL AIR RACES WEEKEND! DO YOU OWN A BUSINESS? A STORE? A RESTAURANT? A BEAUTY SHOP? A ??? THINK ABOUT IT!! IT CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED BY A PEDESTRIAN! THIS SITUATION HURTS YOUR BUSINESSES!!! I shot these pictures in just a few minutes each on Saturday and Sunday, it was a STEADY STREAM of PEDESTRIANS who did their best to cross Park Place and Isabella by putting themselves in danger! DO YOU SEE A PATTERN OF VEHICLES FIRST AND THERE IS NO SECOND?? Did I say DANGER? LIABILITY? LAWSUITS?
I had no premonition that she was going to fall!
This nice lady was terrified and bravely clutched her purse for the dangerous crossing!
This car waited patiently behind this family with two strollers before continuing. NOT ALL DRIVERS ARE THAT PATIENT!
You can see how short the time span between west bound cars and the car behind the women in green slacks was waiting for her to clear the road!
