Orange Avenue Ale is light, refreshing and easy drinking. The citrus-flavored beer is served with a wedge slice of orange affixed to the rim of the glass or in the actual drink. “This became a favorite in our restaurants overnight,” said Sean Farrell, master brewer at CBC. “I haven’t seen such a response to a new beer in a long time. Our customers love the beer and the orange slice,” he said. In 1886 Coronado’s main street was lined with Orange trees, hence the name Orange Avenue. A single railroad track ran down the middle connecting the island from the ferryboats at one end to the Hotel del Coronado and Tent City at the other. Orange Avenue Ale features CBC’s familiar redheaded mermaid on the label and comes in at 5.2% abv. It is available in 22-ounce bottles and served at bars and restaurants throughout Southern California and Arizona. Other beers from the decade-old brewing company include Coronado Golden, Idiot IPA, Islander Pale Ale (IPA) and Mermaids Red. The Coronado Brewing Company is located at 170 Orange Avenue, Coronado, CA 92118. For more information call (619) 437-4452 or visit www.coronadobrewingcompany.com
