Navy Bridge Run – Coronado Sweeps Top Three in Male 1-12 Year Old Division

Dylan Groeneveld had registered to run, but unfortunately had sprained his ankle last week, so his friend Jack Gould ran using Dylan’s bib number. Jack ended up winning the division! When asked about the race, Jack shared these thoughts: “It was my first time running over the bridge, but I didn’t get to appreciate the view because I was trying my hardest to finish the race. I think I did pretty good without training. I didn’t know how good I was doing because I didn’t have a sense of time. I was neck and neck with two of my friends and I wanted to finish before them. Basically I was focused on saving up my energy for the end of the race and the final sprint.”

Nicholas, who came in third in the division commented about the race, “It was fun. I want to run it again next year.”

Nicholas (green shirt), with Jack (blue shirt) by his side, even got his moment of fame on TV when interviewed by KUSI News prior to the race:

The impressive times officially recorded for the boys were 29:10 (Jack), 29:12 (Christian) and 30:11 (Nicholas).
