Naval Air Station North Island, Calif. — Residents in the immediate vicinity of Naval Air Station North Island may experience a temporary increase in noise, due to military aircraft training exercises being conducted here, January 15 – February 8, 2010. The first wave of exercises will begin January 15-29. Various U.S. military aircraft to include F-15 Eagle, F/A 18 Hornet, and E-2 Hawkeye will be participating in the SENTRY SAN DIEGO EXERCISE for routine aircrew joint training. The second wave of training exercises will begin January 29- February 8. The command will be hosting multiple T-45 Goshawk, as student naval aviators will train for carrier qualification. The Navy recognizes the importance of being good neighbors with the local communities and makes every effort to abate noise when possible. The training exercises will be conducted during regular “work hours” to minimize impact. All noise abatement complaints can be directed to 619-545-8233.
