Scottish Treasures celebrates 15 years of business in Coronado

The Scottish Treasures store moved to a new location on Orange Avenue earlier this year after being located at Coronado Ferry Landing, and it is in this new location that the store hits a milestone. On December 7th, Scottish Treasures is opening its location to host a celebration of sorts: an open house to commemorate the store’s 15th anniversary. The open house will include traditional Scottish food, such as haggis, a bagpipe player to light up Orange Avenue, and if the Irish dancers are not competing, dancers. For those who pick up an invitation in the Scottish Treasures store before the open house, a discount will be offered, and the store will be holding a deal on sterling silver Irish rings.

Tricia Logan, who runs the shop with the help of her mother and father, says that “90% of the store is truly Scottish”, so those expecting an authentic Scottish experience will receive it. The Logan family is originally from Scotland, and works to deliver a genuine business that honors the Scottish and Irish traditions that occur across the pond.

Regarding the upcoming 15th anniversary, Ms. Logan says, “it’s a lot of work, with imports and traveling” but the store “serves Southern California as one of the only store fronts left with both Scottish and Irish” pieces.

For Coronado residents and tourists alike, Ms. Logan reminds everyone that “[December 7th] is a good day to break out the tartans, if you have one!”
