Police Blotter October 7 – 13: Home on Second Street Burglarized, $9000+ in Valuables Taken

Vandalism (Less than $400)
Between 3:30 p.m. on 10/3 and 8:37 a.m. on 10/4, unknown person(s) used their hand(s) to hit the driver’s side vehicle mirrors forward of at least 15 vehicles in the 700 block of F Avenue, the 600 and 700 blocks of Eighth Avenue, and the 700 block of H Avenue, causing damage to one known vehicle.

Malicious Mischief/Vandalism – Misdemeanor
Unknown suspect(s) vandalized the rooftop located at 800 Orange Avenue by spray painting the area with orange spray paint. Due to the location of the vandalism and the lack of access, the total damage has not been assessed. Estimated damage is $1000.

Subject was in a minor physical altercation with his wife.

Unknown suspect used a fictitious email account to represent themselves as a vacation property owner. Using the false identity, the suspect was able to scam the victim into paying $632.50 using Western Union.

Unknown suspect(s) cut numerous strands of Romex copper wiring from a construction site. The total length of stolen wire was approximately 250 feet. The value of the stolen wire is $10.

Unknown suspect(s) took the victim’s unlocked bicycles from the intersection of Fourth Street and Orange Avenue. The bicycles were left locked to a pole. Estimated loss $1950.

Unknown suspect(s) defeated the padlock to the victim’s garage door. The suspect opened the door and took numerous items (including two paddle boards, a child’s bike, and a wagon) from the garage. Estimated loss $5070.

Unknown suspect(s) used a rock to break the front window of a home located in the 300 block of Second Street. Once the window was broken, the suspect(s) entered the home and stole jewelry, laptop computers, and electronic equipment. The approximate loss is $9350.
